The Belorechenskoe deposit, located in the North Caucasus region of Adygea, Russia, is a historic mining locality known for its complex hydrothermal vein mineralization. Geologically, the deposit is situated within the Main Caucasus Range and features mineralized veins cutting through Paleozoic granites and metamorphic basement rocks. These veins are rich in baryte, fluorite, calcite, and various sulfides, along with localized uranium-bearing minerals that formed during low- to medium-temperature hydrothermal events. Exploration and mining operations at the site began in the late 1960s, driven primarily by Soviet state programs seeking industrial commodities and strategic elements. Active extraction and development continued through the 1970s and 1980s, but operations were scaled back and eventually ceased entirely following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s.
