Classic old specimen from Utah, lustrous metallic sharp crystals of tetrahedrite averaging 0.3 cm in size scattered over the top of a crystallized quartz matrix. Minimal damage present, still in good condition. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video and dates to the very early 20th century.

Mining at Bingham Canyon in Utah began in the 19th century with small underground operations that extracted gold, silver, and copper from mineralized veins. In the early 20th century the deposit was developed as a large open pit mine to work a porphyry copper system hosted in intrusive rocks. The Bingham Canyon Mine became one of the largest open pit copper mines in the world and has produced large amounts of copper along with gold, silver, and molybdenum.
