Wolframite with Scheelite, Quartz

specimen number:
1651014

location:
Carrock mine, Caldbeck Fells, Cumbria, England, UK

description:
Semi lustrous bladed crystals of wolframite, I would guess that these tend to be more towards the ferberite end of the series, to 2.0 cm in size on quartz with scheelite. This is not perfect, still in good this scheelite is brightly fluorescent underexample for the species from this British locality. This scheelite is quite rich as masses throughout the quartz matrix and is brightly fluorescent under shortwave ultraviolet light.
