Albite with Actinolite, Epidote
specimen number:
1052105
location:
Knappenwand, Untersulzbach, Salzburg, Austria
description:
Lustrous colorless crystals of albite measuring to 1.5 cm in size on matrix with crystals of epidote and needlelike actinolite. In good condition. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video. Note that this label talks about the presence of fluorapatite. It appears to me like there was one area on the specimen that might have had some fluorapatite crystals at one time in the past, but I believe that they had been faked onto the matrix and since removed. We still keep the old label with the specimen for history's sake. This is from the very early 20th century.
