The Fengjiashan Mine, located in the Edong Mining District of Daye County, Hubei Province, China, is a modern commercial and specimen mining operation that has been active primarily from the late 20th century onward for copper and polymetallic ores, though the broader Daye mining region has ancient roots spanning over two millennia. Geologically, the deposit sits within a complex skarn and hydrothermal replacement environment where intrusive magmatic rocks have interacted with carbonate strata, creating rich cavities filled with rare secondary mineral assemblages. Analcime, a sodium aluminum tectosilicate belonging to the zeolite group, occurs here as well-formed, transparent to translucent trapezohedral crystals deposited during late-stage hydrothermal activity within the mine's vugs and fractures.
