Needlelike slightly translucent crystals of blue azurite to 0.3 cm in size across a malachite crystal matrix. In good condition with very minimal micro-damage present.

Concepcion del Oro, located in the northern part of Zacatecas, Mexico, is a historic mining district with roots dating back to the late 16th century following Spanish colonial exploration. Geologically, the district is hosted in a complex carbonate sequence of Cretaceous limestones that were intruded by Tertiary granodioritic to monzonitic stocks and dikes. This magmatic-hydrothermal activity generated extensive skarn, replacement, and vein deposits, making the area exceptionally rich in copper, gold, silver, lead, and zinc. Over centuries of intensive extraction, the district evolved from early colonial silver workings into a major industrial and artisanal mining hub that also yielded world-class mineral specimens for collectors worldwide.
