Barite with Fluorite
specimen number:
8291019
location:
Xiefang mine, Ruijin Co., Ganzhou, Jiangxi, China
description: Spectacular lustrous translucent large thick amber colored crystals of barite measuring to 3.3 cm in size across the top of this almost botryoidal lustrous deep purple translucent crystallized fluorite matrix. Very sparse and minimal micro-chipping present, I feel that this is in very good condition. Brightly fluorescent under longwave ultraviolet light. A terrific combination piece. The Xiefang Mine, located in Ruijin County within the Ganzhou prefecture of Jiangxi Province, China, is a notable hydrothermal mineral locality situated in a region widely recognized for complex polymetallic and graniterelated ore systems.
