description: The Minerva Mine No. 1 in Hardin County, Illinois, was part of the Illinois Kentucky Fluorspar District and was worked mainly during the mid 20th century for fluorite, along with lead and zinc. The deposit consists of mineralized veins in limestone that produced a wide range of mineral species.
An attractive spray of crystallized calcite coming off matrix. Typical of these slight cleaving present on some of the terminations. Still very good.
