Calcite
specimen number:
3831151
location:
Washington Co., Missouri, USA
description: Deep orange semi lustrous and translucent scalenohedral crystals of calcite to 11.0 cm in size across the top of this matrix with minor crystallized dolomite. A second-generation of colorless small rhombohedral crystals is present. This material was collected in the mid 1990s. Very slight cleaving along one side as seen but overall I think this in great condition. The color is outstanding.
