A wonderful combination specimen from this prolific locality, gemmy crystals of calcite measuring to 3.0 cm in height or coming off of an attractive pink dolomite crystal matrix. Crystals of chalcopyrite are scattered throughout and present as inclusions within the calcite crystals. This is in excellent condition. Naturally crystallized all around with no points of attachment.

The Ben Hogan Quarry near Black Rock in Lawrence County, Arkansas, is a limestone quarry that has been worked for crushed stone and construction material. The quarry has become known among mineral collectors for cavities and vugs within the limestone that contain crystallized minerals. Collecting activity has taken place for many years, with specimens such as calcite, fluorite, and other minerals recovered from the quarry.
