Calcite with Hematite
specimen number:
2241013
location:
Pea Ridge Mine, Washington Co., Missouri, USA
description:
Collected during the 1970s, this is a much better than normal example of calcite from this long closed iron mine in southeastern Missouri. Red translucent crystals of calcite to 1.8 cm in length are aesthetic over the top of a 5.5 x 5.0 x 3.0 cm matrix. Very minimal micro-cleaving present, I think in very fine condition for one of these. Shipping weight: 0.16 pounds. Ex Charles Noll collection.
Size: 5.5 x 5.0 x 3.0 cm (miniature)
Collection: Charles Noll
