Calcite with Hematite
specimen number:
8611140
location:
Pea Ridge mine, Washington Co., Missouri, USA
description:
I think this extremely nice for this old locality with slightly pinkish to colorless scalenohedral crystals of translucent lustrous calcite measuring to almost 4.0 cm in size set aesthetically up on matrix. The matrix consists of a hematite breccia. This is in very good condition. Definitely from the 1970s.
Size: 6.5 x 4.0 x 1.0 cm (small-cabinet)
