This important iron mine just south of Sullivan Missouri closed in the early 1990s. During the 1970s, especially the early 1970s material such as the specimen shown were prevalent from the mine. Beautiful brassy crystals of chalcopyrite to 0.9 cm in size over the top of a 6.0 x 3.5 x 3.0 cm crystallized calcite matrix. Light dusting of hematite present. Minimal micro-chipping to the calcite, overall though in very good condition. Shipping weight: 0.09 pounds.
