specimen number:
8311097
location:
Huanggang Mines, Inner Mongolia, China
description: The Huanggang Mines in Inner Mongolia, China, are a large polymetallic mining district known for deposits of iron, tin, zinc, and other metals. Mining in the area developed during the late 20th century and continues with modern underground operations. The deposits formed from hydrothermal activity related to granitic intrusions, producing mineralized veins and skarn bodies. The district is also well known among mineral collectors for producing well crystallized specimens such as fluorite, quartz, arsenopyrite, and other sulfide minerals.
Glassy colorless gem quality crystals of fluorite measuring to 3.5 cm in size on top of matrix with crystallized arsenopyrite. In excellent condition.
Size: 6.5 x 5.0 x 4.5 cm (small-cabinet)
