Brilliant glassy gem amber colored crystals of fluorite averaging 0.5 cm in size aesthetic in a cluster with no attached matrix. Brightly fluorescent under longwave ultraviolet light. The quality on this one is much higher than normally seen from the locality. Crystallized calcite present as well.

The Moscona mine, located near Solis within the Corvera de Asturias municipality of Asturias, Spain, is a prominent underground operation recognized as a leading producer of industrial and specimen-grade fluorite. Geologically, the deposit belongs to the Villabona mining district, where stratabound replacement bodies and cross-cutting veins are hosted within a sequence of Permo-Triassic sedimentary rocks, including carbonates and silicified sandstones. This setting is famous for producing highly lustrous, honey-yellow cubic fluorite crystals frequently associated with calcite, dolomite, and barite. Formal commercial mining at the site began after it was registered as a concession in 1968, with large-scale extraction continuing through the late twentieth century and remaining active into the twenty-first century.
