Fluorite with Calcite, Pyrite
specimen number:
1502061
location:
Moscona Mine, Asturias, Spain
description: A very unusual an incredibly attractive specimen from this classic locality. Deep amber colored gemmy glassy cubic crystals of fluorite measuring to just over 2.0 cm on edge are completely covering the top side of this very shapely and aesthetic 29.0 x 26.0 x 7.0 cm matrix. Despite the initial amber color, there is a lot of rosy purple in this one as well making the crystals extremely pretty. Minor calcite present. The backside of the piece dusted with micro pyrite crystals. Overall I think in outstanding condition. Normal fluorite from this locality is amber and color, rarely showing this rosy purple coloration as well. I'm told this was a limited find. Ex Renaud Vochten collection.
