The Ruyuan Mine (frequently cited as the Ruyuan Fluorite Mine) in Shaoguan Prefecture, Guangdong Province, China, is a notable modern locality situated within the rugged, mineral-rich metallogenic belt south of the Nanling Mountains. Geologically, the area is characterized by Mesozoic granitic intrusions and complex fault-bounded sedimentary and metamorphic structures that facilitated extensive hydrothermal activity and the formation of high-grade vein systems. Mineralogically, the mine gained international attention around 2013 for producing exceptional, highly transparent, gemmy green fluorite crystals often accompanied by sharp, contrasting quartz points, making its specimens highly prized by global mineral collectors.
