Fluorite with Siderite
specimen number:
1052069
location:
Alston Moor, Cumbria, England, UK
description: A plate of glassy gemmy cubic fluorite crystals measuring to 4.0 cm on edge, some of these exhibiting twinning. Very minimal micro-damage present, I feel that this piece is in very good condition. Small crystals of siderite are scattered throughout. Incredibly fluorescent. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video. The specimen was originally acquired by Mr. Gruson in 1911, however it was part of a collection owned by a person named Hoyer that was dispersed in 1893. This excellent specimen dates to the late 19th century.
