Goethite on Cerussite
specimen number:
8821750
location:
Kintore Open Cut, Broken Hill, NSW, Australia
description:
Extremely sharp blocky crystals of cerussite measuring to 1.8 cm in size across the front of this matrix and coated with lustrous black goethite. This is classic material for this locality. The specimen is in great condition I think. There are several crystals with corners were the goethite this not completely coated them, perhaps on one of them the goethite slightly chipped away, but on the other it simply did not coat the crystal completely. I think the specimen very fine.
Size: 11.0 x 9.0 x 5.0 cm (cabinet)
