While the recovery of gold was always important in this mining district economically, good examples of visible gold were never commonly encountered. This example shows bright crystalline native gold throughout a crystallized quartz matrix with galena and sphalerite. Slight cleaving present to some of the sphalerite crystals as seen. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video, this dating the piece to the early 1970s.
