Very fine blocky white crystals of microcline on matrix with muscovite. Good example for the species and locality, in good condition. Colorless to slightly bluish tabular crystals of beryl are present as well. Neat combination piece.

The Huya mining district, located within the Mount Xuebaoding area of Pingwu County in Sichuan Province, China, is a world-renowned mineral locality situated at high elevations in the Longmenshan Mountains. Geologically, the deposit consists of greisen-style hydrothermal veins that formed within the contact zone between a late Yanshanian granite intrusion and surrounding Triassic sedimentary rocks, such as marble and schist. The site is particularly famous for producing exceptionally large, blocky crystals of microcline feldspar, which often exhibit a classic off-white to cream color and serve as a dramatic matrix for other minerals like fluorite and scheelite. Historically, the area was not developed for large-scale industrial metal quarrying but was instead discovered by local collectors and mineralogists in the 1980s. Specimen mining became highly active throughout the 1990s and the early 2000s, with artisanal miners navigating difficult terrain and high altitudes to recover these aesthetic associations. Today, the Huya district remains a significant source of museum-quality silicate specimens, representing a key geological landmark in the Eastern Tibetan Plateau's mineralogical landscape.
