Quartz with Galena
specimen number:
1341783
location:
Magmont mine, Viburnum Trend, Iron Co., Missouri, USA
description:
Both sides of this matrix are mostly covered with cube octahedral crystals of galena averaging 1.0 cm in size and bright glistening crystals of quartz to 0.5 cm in size. Very minimal damage is present, this is in good condition. The specimen is an old one from the 1970s. Good displayable quartz from this mining district is not terribly common. This one must weigh around 75 pounds. Because of this weight, this one will have a special shipping charge of $100 within the US, $300 outside the US. The special shipping charge is going to be approximately one half, if not even less, than the actual cost to ship this.
