description: Beautiful translucent red scalenohedral crystals of rhodochrosite to 2.8 cm in height forming a 3.3 x 2.8 x 1.8 cm matrix-less cluster. Neat crystal form - the original crystals were deep cherry red. There is a secondary growth of ligher colored rhodochrosite crystals "capping" the first generation crystals. Complete all around; one very tiny spot is chipped on the back of the piece as seen in the photos. Perfect from the front. The color and form is beautiful! Ex Lloyd Tate collection.
