Rhodochrosite with Cerussite, Quartz (ex Joseph Neeld circa 1840)
specimen number:
1652148
location:
Hungary
description:
Pink crystallized rhodochrosite across the top of this matrix with quartz and prismatic crystals of colorless cerussite measuring to 0.6 cm in length. In good condition. At one time the specimen was part of the collection of Joseph Neeld and dates most likely to the 1840s. I am quite sure that the given locality was Hungary at the time the piece was collected, but I think it is from present day Romania.
