description: Shinichengite is a rare calcium aluminum borosilicate mineral that is chemically related to oyelite and occurs in boron rich hydrothermal or metamorphic environments. It typically forms as small, colorless to pale crystals or aggregates in association with other borate and borosilicate minerals. The best known specimens come from the Shijiangshan Mine at Yinwu in Linxi, Ulanhad League, Inner Mongolia, China, where complex mineralization developed from boron rich fluids interacting with calcium and aluminum bearing host rocks. These conditions allowed for the formation of a suite of unusual boron minerals, including shinichengite, within cavities and altered zones.
Colorless richly crystallized across the top of matrix. In good condition and very rich for the species.
