description: The Clark Mine, located in Keweenaw County, Michigan, was incorporated on December 19, 1853, and operated intermittently under various owners, including French proprietors and the Estivant Brothers, before finally closing in 1901. Geologically, the mine is situated on the northern side of the Greenstone bluff within the Keweenaw Peninsula's Precambrian flood basalt flows and interbedded sedimentary rocks. Its workings targeted fissure veins and amygdaloidal zones containing native copper, mass copper, and associated minerals.
Colorless crystals of analcime averaging 0.3 cm size on matrix. Good locality example for the species. Massive calcite is present. Collected in 1996.
