A superb miniature for this old locality. Semi lustrous slightly translucent blue tabular crystals of barite are set up on a hematite matrix with calcite. This is in super condition. At one time the specimen was part of the collection of miner John Brottlund. He was responsible for most of the specimen that were rescued from the crusher at this famous old locality. Background on Mr. Brottlund can be found in The Mineralogical Record, volume 51, pages 422 and 423. The specimen was displayed for the public at the Cincinnati, 1993 show, the Cincinnati, 1997 show, and the Denver, 1997 show.
