Extremely large colorless slightly translucent semi lustrous rhombohedral crystals of dolomite measuring to over 6.0 cm on edge set on matrix. Minor quartz is present. Excellent for the species and locality.

Geologically, the area is situated within the Neogene volcanic arc of the Eastern Carpathians, where intense calc-alkaline magmatism and hydrothermal activity produced complex epithermal vein networks cutting through sedimentary and volcanic host structures.
