From the type locality for the species, very rich and prominent brown crystals of hubeite throughout a cluster of prismatic quartz crystals. Micro-fluorapophyllite and calcite are present as well. This is an excellent example for the species. There are no points of attachment.

The Fengjiashan Mine, located in Daye County near Huangshi in Hubei Province, China, began operations as a state-run copper mine in 1966 before transitioning to industrial wollastonite extraction in the early 1980s. Geologically, the deposit sits within a complex metamorphic and sedimentary framework involving Paleozoic to Mesozoic carbonate and clastic successions that were intruded by magmatic bodies, driving extensive hydrothermal alteration. This hydrothermal activity formed skarn-associated mineral assemblages housed within fault zones and cavities. The mine has achieved international acclaim among mineral collectors as the type locality for hubeite, as well as for producing world-class crystallized specimens of inesite, quartz, and fluorapophyllite-K.
