Very good example for the species, the specimen consists of a loose cluster of attractive pink needlelike crystals of inesite, heavily scattered throughout are brown needlelike crystals of hubeite. This is in good condition.

The Fengjiashan Mine, located in Daye County, Huangshi Prefecture, Hubei Province, China, is situated within a complex geological setting characterized by Permo-Triassic carbonate and clastic successions that underwent extensive faulting, metamorphism, and hydrothermal activity driven by neighboring intrusive bodies. Originally opened as a state-owned copper mine in 1966, the operation became unprofitable and was converted to a wollastonite mine in the early 1980s. Throughout its operational history, underground extraction exposed hydrothermal veins and vugs that yielded an array of secondary minerals. The mine is historically significant to mineralogy as the type locality for hubeite and as a primary source for crystallized inesite, quartz, scheelite, apophyllite, and calcite.
