Crystallized siderite forming hollow casts after now gone crystals of calcite, some of these measuring as large as 6.0 cm across, coming off matrix. Classic for this locality, this would have been collected in the late 1990s. In great condition.

The Turt mine (located near Turt in Satu Mare County, within the Oas Mountains of northwestern Romania) is situated in a region shaped by Neogene volcanic activity and complex tectonic structures. Geologically, the deposit is famous for epithermal polymetallic veins hosted in volcanic and sedimentary sequences, featuring massive ore veins up to twenty meters thick comprised mostly of galena, sphalerite, pyrite, and chalcopyrite. While small-scale traditional or historical extraction in the surrounding area dates back centuries, industrial-scale mining operations at Turt officially opened in 1973. Like many other mining centers in the region, commercial operations eventually ceased, and the mine closed permanently around 2005.
